What's a column?

There are two types of Sheets available in the OnPlan platform.

  • Time Based

  • Lookup

Whether you choose a Time Based sheet or Lookup sheet, you have to provide specific parameters.

Example: If you choose a Time Based sheet, you need to provide details such as Create Sheet Name, Function, Department, Sheet Timeframe, Type, and additional information such as Row Type, Row Format, and Row Summarization. Then, enter the name or email address, if you want to share the sheet with others.

If you choose a Lookup sheet, you need to provide details such as Create Sheet Name, Function, and Department and name or email address, if you want to share the sheet with others.

Time based sheet

You will see the first column as Name and others as Months. Columns give you a structure in which you can put the details that are relevant to each row.

Lookup sheet

By default, you will see five columns: Row Name, Name, Last Name, Contact, and Amount. You can add, remove, rename, and change the column type. Row Name is the primary column; you can only rename and change the column type.

Each field has a particular column type that determines what kind of rich information you can put, like Single line text, Percentage, Currency, Number, Date, Single select, or Formula. If you pick and choose the correct column types, then you can make a model to fulfill your requirements.

The five columns that you start with all have different types. The Name column is a single-line text column, which is suited for short, unique pieces of text. It is an excellent place for Row Name, such as Employee, Funding, Customer, Sales, and so on.

The Funding Date is a Date type that is suitable for holding the funding date. Just click into the cell and select a date from the calendar.

After filling out your five columns, your sheet should look something like this:

Row Name will hold name in Single line text, Contract values will hold values in Dollar ($) Currency, Confidence will hold values in Percentage (%), the Closer date will contain the Date, and Stage will include Single select options.

Feel free to export this CSV to use yourself, or directly copy and paste the cells in this embedded table and paste them into your own base.
